One Hour Ride

Mount up with Mountain View Ranch cowboys & cowgirls on trails our first settlers rode. Explore the winding Adirondack pine forest trails at the base of Beech Mountain, to the banks of the mountain stream. Come ride with us and create unforgettable memories.

This is our most popular ride, so be sure to book in advance!

Important Things To Note

Ages: nine years old +

Duration: one hour long

Experience: all experience levels

Shoes must be strapped on. We recommend closed toed shoes for you ride

Recomendations: Most popular ride. Perfect for beginners. Book in advance. Walk in’s are welcome, but reservations guarantee a spot.

You must be able to ride a horse without being led

Please note that due to insurance there are height and weight restrictions in order to ride. Go to Important Things To Know.

Anyone under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign a liability release form

Anyone under 18 must wear a helmet per NY state law. Helmets are also available for anyone that would like one

Absolutely amazing experience! Was really the highlight of our trip to Lake George. We are all first time riders and did the Hour Ride. The trail was beautiful, peaceful, and easy going. Our guides were fantastic! really all the staff! – so patient, extremely friendly, and so knowledgable about the horses and the area/history. We could have rode all day.

We have been riding and caring for horses near Lake Geeorge since 1942.
Willis Bennett started the riding stable in the middle of dude ranch country.
We are the only family owned and operated ranch still in business today, three generations later.
